Yesterday (July 6th, 2012), someone posted this
graphic on Facebook.
I replyed "Actually,
the bible says to execute all gays. Just sayin'."
For that and that alone, I was banned
from Facebook for 24 hours and threatened to be banned
forever. Banned for nothing more than paraphrasing a bible
verse, and please note that these are god's own words (allegedly):
Leviticus 20:13 (King James Version)
If a man also lie with mankind,
as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination:
they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Leviticus 20:13 (New International
If a man has sexual relations
with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what
is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be
on their own heads.
Like it or not, that's what the bible
says. I didn't write it, I merely informed people that that's what's
in there, and for that I am banned. Nor do I believe it. As many
of my Facebook friends know, I often advocate for equal rights for
all, and that includes gays. I've posted numerous pro-gay or anti-homophobic
things on my page, practically on a daily basis. And clearly I did
not say that I am for executing all gays, just that the
bible says so, which it inarguably does.
That was my second offense (third
if you include a friending offense). Just simply posting this picture
(below) was my first offense. Not sure what's wrong with it, either...
